Greetings from our tiny corner of this vast, endless universe known as the “Web.” We assume you’re here either because you’re related to us or because you want to find out more about our books, or how we can help you achieve your goals. In any case we're glad you stopped by.
When we met as Rutgers College students we had no idea that one day our bylines would appear together on books. We were just trying to get through our courses! Once called “the cutting edge couple of the 1990s,” Deb and I have written together for about 20 years. The “cutting edge” part refers to the topics we often write about—technology that’s become part of our popular culture. Topics include the early days of TV, solar energy, the Internet, telecommuting, eBay, Amazon, and e-commerce in general.
We’ve written 14 books from The Complete Guide to CompuServe (McGraw-Hill, 1991) to Kidnet: The Kid's Guide to Surfing Through Cyberspace (HarperCollins, 1995). Our bestselling book is eBay PowerSeller Secrets, which is in its 6th printing, with more than 35,000 copies in print. McGraw-Hill published the second edition in November 2007.
Other eBay books include eBay PowerSeller Million Dollar Ideas and How eBay Really Works.
We love eBay and e-commerce, we love writing books, but thankfully there’s a bit more to us than that. We have two great kids (really, we know all parents say that but it’s true), and live close to Washington D.C. in western Maryland. Brad was America Online's Editorial Director during all that craziness of the Internet boom era. You should hear the wild stories he tells about those times. Deb’s worked as an editor for McGraw-Hill, and now works as a children’s librarian when she’s not writing books.
Deb frequently speaks at libraries and other venues on topics related to our books. She's gotten rave reviews for her delivery style, and ability to provide an audience with just the information they want.
Publications such as Newsweek, The Chicago Tribune, Life Magazine, Woman’s Day, and U.S. News and World Report have featured our work. We're also consultants for such firms as the Gerson Lehrman Group and DeMatteo Monness.
Deb and I are always looking for interesting new assignments, so give us a shout if you think we can help!
